SNATCHES OF PINK - A founding group of Chapel Hill's celebrated rock scene, Snatches of Pink are re-emerging after a 7 year hiatus. One of rock music's original renegade bands has re-emerged  to assassinate all conventions and expose the cruel yet forever glorious face of rock 'n' roll. The band, Snatches Of Pink. Their weapon, "Stag", and their ammunition, a volatile, apocalyptic cocktail of swaggering punk, unabashed glam, and boisterous rock.

THE TALK - After creating quite a punk pop splash last year in the studio, on the road and on the charts with “It’s Like Magic In Reverse”, Charlotte, North Carolina’s The Talk is getting ready to leave you drenched in the wake of their new album called “The Sinners of Daughters” on August 23rd. With punk rock riffs layered with melodies that together make way for lyrics that invoke any and all emotions, “The Sinners of Daughters” comes to life with rock veteran producer Brian Paulson (Wilco, Beck, Superchunk) behind the boards. After a summer of touring including a stop for CMJ’s Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame Music Festival and having music in an up- coming independent film, The Talk is perfectly positioned to be seen, heard and experienced by music fans everywhere.

ELEVATOR ACTION
- From a city that rarely sees its accomplishments cross it's borders comes a driven new band on a driven new label with a driving new record. That band is Elevator Action. If you are familiar with them, then you know what I mean. If you've never heard of them, then congratulations. In their own inimitable way, Elevator Action take what is great, dangerous, sexy and cool about everything in rock's history between '77 and '94 and put it through a distinctive filter drenched in their own trashy style and reckless attitude, making something completely unique and thrillingly current. It's no surprise that Elevator Action was voted Best New Band of 2003 by Charlotte's Creative Loafing. It's also no surprise that their debut album on MoRisen Records is so damn good. Produced by the versatile John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr., Eve 6, Jimmy Eat World), this is a debut album that should be played loud, frequently, and everywhere. ...and like a week-long bender, it only promises to get more exiting and out of control.

ALTERNATIVE CHAMPS
- Hailing from North Carolina, The Alternative Champs are a bizarre rock band that dominate in selling not only themselves but everything they touch. They have been playing their undeniably catchy, anything goes music since 1989. Part performance art, stand up comedy, satirical theatre, and gigantic stadium rock band, The Champs are a musically hilarious team that are so addictive they should be sold over the counter. This four piece knows how to unleash everything from gnarly noise to subtle ballads and each live show’s attire reflects a different theme. Whatever the mood, once you discover The Champs you will be asking “Where can I get a copy of this CD?!”

THE SAMMIES
-The band members were raised on classic rock and site bands such as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Echo and the Bunnymen, Wilco, Spirit, Allman Brothers, Chuck Berry, Neil Young, Devo, Beach Boys, Beatles, a host of 80s bands, early alternative rock, and a lot of new indie bands too numerous to list as their musical influences. Needless to say they have done quite a bit of musical research with the band collectively owning more than 5,000 CDs and hundreds of albums. But their research also took them to their own back yard with such influences as Blind Boy Fuller (also from Anson County, born in 1907) and old country crooner Charlie Poole from Wilkes County. With such an eclectic taste for music that covers all genres of music, The Sammies are satisfied being described as southern rockers who are upbeat, twangy, witty, a little punk and definitely spirited.

MARAT - An extraordinary lineup of who's who rockers out of North Carolina, Marat consists of Michael Rank on guitar (Snatches of Pink, Clarissa), John Ensslin on lead vocals (Teasing the Korean, What Peggy Wants), Des White on bass (The Veldt), and Scott Carle on drums (Dillon Fence, Collapsis). The first self titled release is now available on MoRisen with their follow up, "Again", to be released Sept. 6, '05 .

JENNYANYKIND - The vision of twin brothers Michael and Mark Holland, Chapel Hill's Jennyanykind creates ambient revival rock with blues and pop flourishes. With previous releases on Elektra and Yep Roc, their MoRisen release, "Peasand Collards" is currently available.

THE NEVER
